Hi.

I’m a musician, writer, and comic artist. Welcome to my website.

It’s Not Just For Sore Throats, It’s A Pick Container Too!

I buy picks by the dozens because they are inexpensive and I lose them frequently. I also give picks to students who forget to bring theirs to lessons. When my wife and I were on vacation last year in Santa Fe New Mexico, we were looking in the gift shops and kept seeing a lot of hand made pottery. That’s when the thought came to me that maybe I could find something hand made to keep picks in. I wanted it to sit on one of my amps at home. We looked for a little bowl-like container but couldn’t find one just the right size.

Then in one of the shops I found a small metal container with mints in it. It had a sliding top and a cool skull graphic on it. So I bought the mints just to get the case and use it to hold picks. It turned out the mints were tasty also. Double bonus. It worked great and held several picks, but I really wanted something a little bigger to hold more picks.

I didn’t think much about it until I got a bad sore throat and went to the store to buy some Sucrets. They came in a container that was plastic coated metal. Once I had taken a couple of the throat lozenges I realized that the container was the perfect size for a pick holder, and it had a lid.

So now my sore throat is gone and I have a great pick holder for my amp. I use the smaller former mint container for one of my guitar cases now. It is better suited for that role anyway.

Recycling is good.
