AmpClamp S Series Review

AmpClamp S Series Review

One thing is fairly certain for many gigging guitar players. There is never enough room on stage. I have intentionally made my rig as compact as possible for just this reason. I use a small wattage tube combo and raise it and tilt it up using an amp stand. It then acts a monitor so I can hear myself clearly. Unless the room is very small I mike the amp. And as everyone who has ever dealt with sound systems knows, even the smallest boom mic stands take up a lot of room. And they often get knocked over in tight walking spaces. I decided to look for a better alternative. I found it in AmpClamp. AmpClamp is microphone mounting stand that clips right onto your amp. There are three models. I chose the S Series model.

The S Series AmpClamp is easy to use, very small, and works. You simply clip the AmpClamp onto the bottom lip of your guitar amp, tighten it if needed, and gravity holds the mount and microphone in place. They provide a plate you can screw onto the bottom (or side) of your amp if you want to commit to a permanent location. Or you can use the clamp without the plate. I chose not to use the plate and have had no problems. Occasionally it needs a little tightening when placing it on the amp, but after that it stays put. And there is no boom stand to knock over.

AmpClamp is a great space saving solution for gigging guitar and bass players.
