Shubb Deluxe Capo Review
Over the years, Capos have seen dramatic improvements. Gone are the days of loose-fitting elastic bands and the screw-on plastic monsters that we used back in the 70’s. Most capos are now both quick and easy to use. One of the first “new generation” capos was the original Shubb Capo, released back in 1980. It allowed you to quickly and securely clamp a capo to your guitar neck with a simple squeeze. Shubb took that same idea and improved on it. The result is the Shubb Deluxe Capo.
Features
The Shubb Deluxe Capo has a number of nice features, but the first thing you notice is its small size. Its unique clamping mechanism allows the capo to be very compact and quite thin. Crafted of stainless steel, it is very durable and should provide years of worry-free use. In addition, its new roller mechanism allows for very smooth and easy clamping.
Ease Of Use
Using the Shubb Deluxe Capo is a snap, or should I say squeeze. Simply place the black rubber pad at the desired fret and and squeeze up on the bottom lever. A small roller moves up a groove in the padded bottom clamp and locks the capo to the neck of the guitar. There is a small adjustment screw you can twist if you need to fine tune the tension of the capo. To remove the capo, pull down on the lever and the capo comes off. The roller action is very smooth and the capo clamps firmly in place. Its soft rubber pad doesn’t throw your tuning off and thanks to the adjustment screw I had no problems using it at any fret on the neck.
Final Thoughts
